Sara Pettit

Sara Pettit, Director of Advancement, is responsible for donor relations and fundraising, budget oversight, and working with parish staff, parishioners, school families, and supporters to advance the mission of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish and School, and St. John Church and Student Center. 

Sara received her BA from Kalamazoo College in Art History and Studio Art, and attended the University of Michigan Rackham Graduate School for Nonprofit Administration, focusing in fund development and community identity.

Sara has been married to her husband, Nick (a civil engineer for the US Army Corps of Engineers) since 2012; they have two children, Holden and Celia, and two dogs, Zelda and Pepper. 

Upon starting her role as Director of Advancement in June 2023, Sara shared, “I look forward to working with Parish leadership, staff, and all of the parishioners to ensure the continued success and growth of the parish through the Catholic Church, its teachings, and beliefs.”
