Katie grew up in Presque Isle County (up north!). She was active in campus ministry during undergrad and graduated from MSU in 2004 with a degree in Biology from Lyman Briggs College. She received a Master of Education from the University of Notre Dame after two years as a volunteer chemistry teacher with the Alliance for Catholic Education. She received a Master of Science in Cell Biology from Yale University and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from the University of Dayton. She has led international mission trips and taught courses for study abroad programs for college students, and served as National Coordinator for the ESTEEM Leadership Program for four years.
In addition to working at St. John for the last ten years, Katie currently serves as the Diocesan Coordinator of Campus Ministry. This role seeks to provide other college campus ministers in the diocese with opportunities for collaboration and ongoing formation. She also holds an appointment to the Alliance for Campus Ministry, an advisory body to the Secretariat for Catholic Education within the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
