Meals for the Homeless

Advent House 

Volunteers from the St. John - St. Thomas parish family prepare and serve lunch for as many as 100 guests on the third Saturday of each month at Advent House Ministries, a day shelter located in Lansing that serves over 34,000 meals each year to those without permanent housing.  Currently, volunteers are needed to serve the meals from 11:45 to 12:45.  Volunteers should be 16 or older.  

The St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. John has been preparing and serving the monthly meals at Advent House for more than 10 years.  The St. Vincent de Paul Society – with generous support of the St. John – St. Thomas parish family – purchases, prepares and serves this monthly meal as an extension of our call to help the less fortunate.
