It’s hard to believe that next weekend we enter Advent, the beginning of our
liturgical year; while at the same time, we end another calendar year.
In this final month of the year, we kick off another year end campaign: Light the Way.
Inspired by Matthew 2, the story of the three magi following the star over Bethlehem
and offering their gifts to the newborn Jesus, we call on each of you to make
a gift to St. Thomas Aquinas and St. John Student Center in celebration
of the gifts that Jesus gave to each of us.
Your gifts will light the way of hope, grace, and generosity this Christmas season,
and throughout the next year, as we come together as a Catholic community to grow
in our own faith, offer ourselves to God to be his hands and feet on Earth, and to
serve our greater community with simplicity of heart.
While Advent is a season of expectant waiting, I urge you to make your end of year gifts today. All gifts made before December 22, 2023 will be matched, up to $100,000.
This generous match is made possible by an anonymous member of our parish family.
We are truly grateful for all gifts given during the Light the Way campaign, and there are so many ways that you can support our parish and mission. If you place your donation in the offertory, please indicate that it is for Light the Way, so we can be sure to double its value. You can also give through your retirement fund, required distribution, or stocks.
If you have questions about how to give to our Light the Way campaign, please reach out to me at 517-351-7215 ext. 302, spettit@elcatholics, or stop by my office
at St. Thomas Aquinas.I am more than happy to help you make a meaningful gift.
Peace and Grace,
Sara Pettit
