About the Disciple Maker Index

• The Disciple Maker Index was developed by Catholic Leadership Institute in 2013 with the guidance and input of bishops and priests nationwide, and the expertise of professional survey teams to be an instrument that is statistically sound while at the same time focusing on important aspects of our Catholic Faith.

• The Disciple Maker Index (DMI) is an anonymous survey of parishioners that provides insights into the level of missionary discipleship in the parish in addition to the effectiveness of the Mass experience, preaching and other aspects of parish life. The survey asks questions in four categories: attitudes and beliefs; relationship and satisfaction with the parish; frequency of Catholic practices; and respondent demographics. The survey is anonymous and confidential, and none of the information provided is attached to a respondent’s email.

• The data results are visualized for parish and archdiocesan views, and include benchmark information based on all parishes in the national database. The benchmark of parishes of similar size or in similar environments provides a national perspective to local results. The survey and results were designed so that parishes can repeat the Disciple Maker Index every two to three years to see changes over time through longitudinal data comparison.

Survey Dates: Wednesday, February 22 – Monday, March 27

Please help us by participating in the Disciple Maker Index Survey, a 10-15 minute survey conducted by Catholic Leadership Institute.  The survey is diocesan-wide and will ask you to reflect on your spiritual growth and enable you to provide feedback on our efforts to help you grow.  All responses will be confidential, and the parish will only receive information about the community.  Please use the links below starting February 22 to complete the survey for your parish.  The online survey must be completed by March 27. It is available electronically on your smart phone, tablet or laptop, as well as on paper, so it can be taken anytime convenient during the active dates.

Your input is essential: We are trying to get the highest response rate possible.  This information will be invaluable to our pastor, staff, and our various ministries as we plan for the future and strive to be the best disciples we can be.  We will receive the results this summer, at which time we will share what we have learned with the entire parish.

Paper Copies: You may pick up a paper copy of the survey after Masses beginning on February 22 at the entrances of the church. To submit the completed paper survey, please drop it off at church in the designated areas. You may also mail it or drop it off at the parish offices.  Thank you for participating.
